WEM2067 Dual-channel Wi-Fi Energy Meter for Home Solar and Split-phase Monitoring

WEM2067

The WEM2067 is a dual-channel Wi-Fi energy meter designed for residential solar PV monitoring, split-phase grid monitoring, and bidirectional import/export metering.

It is a practical and cost-effective option when a home solar system only needs two measurement channels, for example:

  • One channel for the grid side
  • One channel for the solar inverter output

For many single-phase home solar systems, this is enough to calculate solar production, home consumption, grid import/export, self-consumption, and electricity savings.

For split-phase homes, WEM2067 can monitor the split-phase grid side with two channels. If you need to monitor both split-phase grid and inverter output at the same time, use WEM3050T or another IAMMETER three-phase meter instead.

Why WEM2067 Fits Home Solar Monitoring

Home solar users usually care about practical results, not only raw production data.

WEM2067 helps answer questions such as:

  • How much electricity did my solar PV system generate?
  • How much electricity did my home use?
  • How much electricity did I import from the grid?
  • How much surplus solar energy did I export?
  • What is my self-consumption rate?
  • Am I actually reducing my electricity bill?

With IAMMETER-Cloud, WEM2067 data can be used for solar dashboards and reports, including electricity bill, feed-in income, self-consumption, and savings analysis.

Best-use Scenarios

Single-phase Home Solar: Grid + Inverter

For a single-phase solar PV system, WEM2067 can use its two channels to monitor:

  • Grid import/export
  • Solar inverter output

From these two measurements, IAMMETER can calculate:

  • Solar production
  • Home consumption
  • Grid import
  • Grid export
  • Self-consumption rate
  • Electricity bill, feed-in income, and savings

This is the main home solar scenario where WEM2067 gives strong value with a simple hardware setup.

See the wiring reference:

Split-phase Grid Monitoring

For North American 120/240V split-phase systems, WEM2067 can monitor the two legs of the split-phase grid.

This is useful for:

  • Whole-home electricity monitoring
  • Import/export monitoring on the grid side
  • Load balance observation between two legs
  • Split-phase residential energy analysis

Important limitation: WEM2067 has two measurement channels. If both channels are used for split-phase grid monitoring, there is no extra channel left for inverter output monitoring.

If you want to monitor split-phase grid and inverter at the same time, use:

Two Independent Single-phase Circuits

WEM2067 can also monitor two independent single-phase circuits, such as two branch circuits or two small loads.

This is useful for basic home energy monitoring or local automation, especially when users need a compact meter with open data access.

Import/export Monitoring and Solar Savings

Solar production alone is not enough to explain whether a PV system saves money.

For home solar users, the important numbers are:

  • Grid import: electricity bought from the grid
  • Grid export: surplus solar energy sent back to the grid
  • Self-consumption: solar energy used directly by the home
  • Feed-in income: income or credit from exported energy
  • Net savings: avoided electricity cost plus export income

WEM2067 provides the real-time power and energy data needed for these calculations in supported wiring scenarios.

Use More Solar Energy Inside the Home

IAMMETER's goal is not only to monitor energy data. The more valuable result is helping users reduce electricity bills.

If a home exports a lot of solar energy while the feed-in tariff is low, increasing self-consumption can often save more money.

WEM2067 can provide grid import/export data for monitoring and analysis. For active solar surplus control, IAMMETER can also work with the WPC3700 Wi-Fi Power Controller to dynamically control resistive loads such as an electric boiler or water heater.

In systems where surplus control is required, choose the meter and wiring scheme according to the number of channels needed.
